Operation Manager
In his 30+ years within the construction industry, Tim Travis has accomplished many things along his path to becoming the Operations Manager at Helios Rising, Inc. Getting his start in his father’s rural Michigan tile business in the late 70’s, Tim eventually moved into the pipeline industry cutting his teeth as a laborer constructing distribution systems, mainline pipes, and gathering fields. After getting a blue collar education throughout the 80’s on what it takes at the base level to build any construction job, Tim continued to develop and grow spending a majority of the next decade operating a variety of heavy equipment, hauling tractor trailer construction related loads, and leading small crews in daily activities.
As Tim’s experience and leadership skills expanded he naturally progressed through the many levels of field management; Crew Leader, Foreman, Assist Superintendent, Superintendent and General Superintendent, all of which culminated in his current role at Helios. While the projects Tim worked upon and completed primarily related to pipeline construction, pipeline integrity, and other pipeline related sectors, his ability to quickly adapt and apply core principles to projects has allowed him to successfully manage field activities in other industries as well. In doing so his background has become as diverse as it is extensive.
While firm handed in his approach he’s proven to be a terrific mentor to others, leading by example in self-discipline, personal drive, and commitment to completing the task at hand. In coupling Tim’s commitment to safety with the wealth of knowledge he has gained throughout the years, his ability and qualifications to lead the field activities of a construction services organization are truly unique.
